If you are looking for PMP certification training in Canada, you have more choices than when this article was first published in 2022. Canadian candidates can now choose from university programs, Canadian project management training firms, international boot camps, live virtual classes, and fully self-paced options. Brain Sensei’s PMP exam prep course, for example, provides the required 35 contact hours completely online and includes more than 2,200 practice questions and full-length exam simulation.
Rather than replacing the original topic, we have updated the providers and information that appeared in the original list. Nine of the original training options are still active and relevant. One provider that could no longer be reliably verified as a current Canadian PMP training option has been replaced with an established Canadian provider offering current 2026 PMP preparation.
There is another reason this list needed an update: the PMP exam changed globally on July 9, 2026. If you are enrolling now, make sure the course you choose prepares you for the current exam rather than an older PMP version.
PMP Certification Training in Canada: What You Need
Before comparing providers, remember that PMP training and PMP certification are two different things.
To apply for the PMP exam, most candidates need 35 hours of Project Professional training unless they hold an active CAPM certification.
Those 35 hours can currently come from:
- Self-paced online training
- Live virtual instructor-led training
- In-person classroom training
- Eligible university or college programs
Beginning December 1, 2026, PMI is changing the rules for live training. Instructor-led courses, whether online or in person, will qualify only when delivered through an approved pathway such as a PMI Authorized Training Partner or an eligible accredited academic program. Self-paced, on-demand training can continue to come from any eligible organization.
That rule is particularly important when comparing Canadian boot camps and live virtual courses later in 2026.
10 Top PMP Certification Canada Options
PMP Certification Canada Option #1: Brain Sensei
Brain Sensei remains the self-paced option on our list, but the course itself has changed substantially since the original 2022 article.
The old PMP course used a Samurai storyline and was available alongside Brain Sensei’s live virtual instructor training. Those descriptions are now outdated.
The current PMP course has been completely rewritten for the July 2026 exam and is focused on streamlined, self-paced preparation for working professionals.
The annual option includes one year of access and:
- 35 contact hours
- 26 PMP learning modules
- Content aligned with the July 2026 PMP exam
- Interactive self-paced learning
- Knowledge assessments
- Spaced repetition
- Acronym and glossary review
- More than 2,200 realistic PMP practice questions
- Three static 180-question practice exams
- Unlimited dynamically generated practice exams during active access
- Detailed answer explanations
- Student support
- A private student community
Brain Sensei also offers a 30-day refund guarantee and a pass guarantee, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
For Canadian candidates, the main advantage is that location becomes irrelevant. Someone in Vancouver, Halifax, Calgary, Toronto, Winnipeg, or a smaller community can complete exactly the same course without waiting for a local cohort.
This is particularly useful if your work schedule changes frequently or you do not want your 35 training hours spread across fixed evening or weekend classes.
PMP Certification Canada Option #2: University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies
The University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies remains one of the strongest Canadian university options from our original list.
It is now a PMI Authorized Training Partner and offers a dedicated PMI Authorized PMP Exam Prep course.
The current program provides 36 contact hours, slightly more than PMI’s 35-hour requirement.
For its Fall 2026 offering, the course combines online learning with scheduled real-time instructor sessions. Students also continue to have access to the online course environment after the live portion ends.
The program uses PMI-authorized PMP materials and is considerably more structured than a self-paced course.
That makes it worth considering if you:
- Prefer learning with a live instructor
- Want training from a Canadian university
- Want scheduled weekly accountability
- Do not mind completing the program over several months
The tradeoff is flexibility. Unlike a self-paced course, you need to fit scheduled webinars into your calendar.
PMP Certification Canada Option #3: Unichrone
Unichrone continues to offer PMP certification training to Canadian candidates.
Its current program is built around a four-day interactive instructor-led course and provides the 35 contact hours required for the PMP application.
Training is available through scheduled online classes and group training, with course materials, mock tests, case studies, and instructor-led preparation included.
The structure is closer to a traditional boot camp than independent study.
This can be useful if you want to complete the formal training relatively quickly and prefer having an instructor move the class through a defined study plan.
The downside is that you study according to a scheduled cohort rather than deciding for yourself when to complete each lesson.
PMP Certification Canada Option #4: Procept Associates
Procept Associates replaces ExamPrepPro in our updated list.
The original 2022 article included ExamPrepPro, but we could not verify a current Canadian PMP training offering strongly enough to keep recommending it alongside the other active providers.
Procept is a particularly appropriate replacement because it is a long-established Canadian project management training company and a PMI Authorized Training Partner.
Its PMP Exam Preparation course has been updated for the July 2026 exam and is offered through both online cohorts and selected in-person sessions in Ontario.
Procept uses PMI-developed course materials and specifically addresses current exam changes including:
- AI
- Sustainability
- Value delivery
- Predictive approaches
- Agile approaches
- Hybrid project environments
For candidates who specifically want Canadian instructor-led PMP training rather than an international training provider with a Canadian landing page, Procept is worth a close look.
PMP Certification Canada Option #5: National Project Management Inc.
National Project Management Inc. also remains active in Canada.
The company specializes in project management training and lists Canadian locations across provinces including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
Its PMP Certification Exam Preparation Workshop provides more than the minimum 35 training hours and includes exam-focused study material and practice.
The company is also listed by PMI as an Authorized Training Partner.
One caution is important here: some pages on the National Project Management website still contain older PMP exam information even though the company continues to run current training.
If you choose this provider, confirm that the specific cohort and materials you are purchasing have been fully updated for the July 2026 PMP exam rather than relying on an older course description.
That is good advice for any provider with a long history of PMP training. An active course does not automatically mean every page on the website has been updated at the same time.
PMP Certification Canada Option #6: Project Management Training Institute
Project Management Training Institute, or PMTI, continues to serve Canadian PMP candidates and remains a PMI Premier Authorized Training Partner.
PMTI’s main model is an intensive four-day PMP boot camp.
Current Toronto training provides:
- 35 contact hours
- Approximately 40 hours of live training
- More than 2,000 practice questions
- Diagnostic exam resources
- PMP application preparation tools
- Course materials and review resources
- After-class support
PMTI offers live online training as well as selected in-person classes.
This is a much more intensive approach than self-paced learning. You are essentially setting aside several full days and making PMP preparation your primary responsibility during that period.
If you learn well through immersion and instructor interaction, that can be an advantage. If disappearing from work for four days is difficult, it can also be the biggest drawback.
PMP Certification Canada Option #7: Invensis Learning
Invensis remains on our updated list and now has a dedicated Canadian PMP certification offering built around the latest exam.
Invensis is a PMI Authorized Training Partner and provides 35 hours of instructor-led PMP training.
Its current Canadian program includes:
- PMI-aligned course materials
- Live instructor-led classes
- 1,500+ PMP practice questions
- Five full-length mock exams
- PMP application guidance
- Study planning and revision support
- Session recordings
The provider currently advertises PMP training for Canadian cities including Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Saskatoon, Vancouver, and Winnipeg.
Public cohorts are primarily delivered live online, while classroom options may be available for group training.
This makes Invensis a useful middle ground if you want an instructor but do not necessarily want to travel to a classroom.
PMP Certification Canada Option #8: KnowledgeHut
KnowledgeHut, now part of upGrad, also continues to offer PMP certification training in Canada.
One reason it remains relevant is that candidates can choose between instructor-led and self-paced learning instead of being locked into one format.
The current PMP preparation package includes a question bank with more than 2,000 questions, an exam simulator, mock exams, and a structured study plan.
KnowledgeHut is therefore more exam-practice focused than some university programs where the emphasis is broader project management education.
If you are considering KnowledgeHut, compare the exact package attached to your chosen delivery format. Features and access can differ between instructor-led and self-paced options.
PMP Certification Canada Option #9: ExcelR
ExcelR remains available to Canadian PMP candidates primarily through live virtual classroom training.
Its current Canadian PMP program provides the 35 contact hours required for PMP eligibility.
It also advertises:
- More than 3,000 practice questions
- Five simulated exams
- Live virtual instruction
- A structured PMP preparation plan
- Its JUMBO PASS, which allows repeat attendance within the applicable access period
That repeat-class model is still one of ExcelR’s more unusual features.
If you learn best through live instruction but worry that one pass through an intensive course will not be enough, being able to revisit scheduled training can be useful.
The tradeoff is the same as with most live virtual training: even though you can attend from anywhere in Canada, you still have to be available when the instructor is teaching.
PMP Certification Canada Option #10: Velociteach and World Class Productivity
The Velociteach and World Class Productivity partnership from our original article is still active.
Velociteach identifies World Class Productivity, or WCP, as its Canadian partner for PMP and CAPM exam-preparation training.
WCP itself is a Canadian PMI Authorized Training Partner that has delivered project management education since 1995.
The companies provide instructor-led project management training to Canadian professionals, while WCP also works with the University of Waterloo on project management certificate education.
Velociteach’s PMP approach is traditionally centered on intensive instructor-led exam preparation and resources associated with Andy Crowe’s The PMP Exam: How to Pass on Your First Try.
If you are interested specifically in the PMP exam-prep course rather than WCP’s broader project management workshops, check the current WCP schedule before enrolling because individual public-course dates vary throughout the year.
What Is Different About Choosing PMP Training in Canada?
Many PMP courses are international, so a page saying “PMP Training Canada” does not necessarily mean the provider operates Canadian classrooms or is a Canadian company.
That is not automatically a problem. Online PMP certification is global.
But there are a few practical details Canadian candidates should compare.
Check the Currency Before Comparing Prices
A course advertised at $500 USD and a course priced at C$500 are obviously not equivalent.
Some international providers display prices based on your region while others continue to charge in U.S. dollars.
Also check whether GST, HST, or other taxes are added during checkout.
Check the Time Zone for Live Classes
“Live online” does not automatically mean convenient.
A Toronto evening class may work well for someone in Ontario but begin in the middle of the workday for someone in British Columbia.
If you live outside Eastern Time, check the actual class hours before registering.
Distinguish a Canadian Classroom From a Canadian Sales Page
Some providers publish individual pages for Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and other Canadian cities even when most public training is actually delivered online.
If you specifically want classroom training, confirm that the provider has a scheduled physical class rather than simply a Canadian location page.
Pay Attention to the December 1, 2026 Rule
If you choose a live class beginning after December 1, verify that it is delivered through a PMI-approved pathway.
Several providers on this list are PMI Authorized Training Partners, but you should still verify the exact course before paying.
If you choose self-paced training, the provider does not need to be an ATP as long as the course otherwise satisfies PMI’s requirements.
Make Sure the Course Covers the Current PMP Exam
The current PMP exam launched globally on July 9, 2026.
It consists of 180 questions and gives candidates 240 minutes to complete the exam.
The current domain weighting is:
- People: 33%
- Process: 41%
- Business Environment: 26%
The update increased the importance of Business Environment considerably and adds stronger emphasis on subjects such as AI, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, value, outcomes, and real-world project decisions.
Predictive, agile or adaptive, and hybrid project environments all remain part of the exam.
If a provider still describes its course primarily around an older PMBOK edition, older domain percentages, or the previous exam blueprint, ask what has been updated before enrolling.
Self-Paced, Live Virtual, or In-Person PMP Training?
The original version of this article divided Canadian PMP training into three main formats, and that distinction is still useful.
Self-Paced Online Training
This works best if you need flexibility and want to decide exactly when you study.
The main challenge is accountability. There is no instructor waiting for you at 9:00 a.m., so you need to create your own study schedule.
Live Virtual Training
This gives you direct instructor access while eliminating the commute.
It is often a good fit if you want structure but do not live near a training centre.
The disadvantage is that you are still tied to scheduled class times.
In-Person Training
Classroom courses can be useful for candidates who learn best face to face and want several highly focused days away from normal work distractions.
They can also require the greatest commitment once commuting, parking, time away from work, and fixed schedules are included.
Do Not Compare PMP Courses on the 35 Hours Alone
Every course that qualifies you for the PMP application may give you the training hours you need, but that does not mean every course gives you the same level of exam preparation.
Before choosing a provider, compare:
- Whether the material is updated for July 2026
- How many realistic practice questions are included
- Whether full 180-question practice exams are available
- Whether the question bank changes between attempts
- How answers are explained
- How long you keep access
- Whether you receive instructor or student support
- Whether the simulator is included or requires another purchase
- Whether the course schedule works in your Canadian time zone
The 35 hours get you through one part of the eligibility process. The quality of your practice matters when it is time to actually sit for the exam.
PMP Certification Canada FAQs
Can I Complete My PMP Training Online in Canada?
Yes. Canadian candidates can complete all 35 required training hours through qualifying self-paced online training. You do not need to attend a physical Canadian classroom.
How Many Hours of PMP Training Do I Need?
You need 35 hours of Project Professional training unless you hold an active CAPM certification.
Are the 35 PMP Hours PDUs?
No. The 35 training hours are used to establish eligibility before PMP certification. PDUs are primarily earned after certification to maintain the credential.
Does My PMP Course Need to Be Canadian?
No. PMP is a global certification. An eligible online course can be taken from a provider based outside Canada.
Does My PMP Course Need to Be From a PMI Authorized Training Partner?
It depends on the format. Self-paced training can come from any eligible organization. Beginning December 1, 2026, live instructor-led PMP training must come through a PMI-approved pathway such as an Authorized Training Partner or eligible accredited academic program.
Can I Take the PMP Exam in Canada?
Yes. After PMI approves your application, you can schedule the PMP exam through Pearson VUE. PMI offers testing at Pearson VUE centres as well as secure online-proctored delivery.
Is the PMP Exam Different in Canada?
No. Canadian candidates take the same PMP certification exam framework used globally.
PMP Certification Canada: What Comes Next?
Once you choose your training, complete your required education and prepare your PMP application.
After PMI approves the application and you pay the exam fee, you can schedule your exam through Pearson VUE. You can choose an available Canadian testing centre or use the secure online option if it meets your needs.
Do not feel pressured to choose a Canadian classroom simply because you live in Canada. For some candidates, having a local instructor and scheduled class is exactly what keeps them accountable. For others, being able to study on a Tuesday morning, Sunday evening, or whenever a project deadline finally gives them a break is far more valuable.
Conclusion
The Canadian PMP training market has changed considerably since we first published this list in 2022, but the basic choice remains the same: decide how you want to learn, then choose the provider that delivers that format well.
The University of Toronto and Canadian providers such as Procept, National Project Management, and WCP offer strong local connections. PMTI, Invensis, Unichrone, KnowledgeHut, and ExcelR give Canadian candidates additional instructor-led options. Brain Sensei takes the self-paced route, eliminating fixed class times altogether.
Whichever provider you choose, make sure the training is current for the July 2026 exam, satisfies the PMP education requirement, and gives you enough realistic practice after the formal training is complete.
If you prefer to complete everything on your own schedule, Brain Sensei’s PMP exam prep course includes the required 35 contact hours, one-year access with the annual option, more than 2,200 practice questions, three static 180-question practice exams, and unlimited dynamically generated practice during your active access period.
