Web project management and digital project management are terminologies used to describe these concepts. Since User Experience Project Management is an extension of website project management, when we mention website project managers, we’re referring to both web and digital project managers.

However, keep in mind that web project management characteristics are like general project management qualities. As a result, the first move forward towards a future in website project management should be to register in a PMP training program and obtain your Project Management Professional certificate. Furthermore, you should have extensive expertise with project management tools.

The Weight Of Websites And Website Project Management

The project’s structure has advanced through many stages with time, same as the trends regarding the use of the internet that has risen dramatically in recent decades. The business fixates on a variety of requirements, including virtualization and multi-location worldwide market data.

The shift in the priority of business requirements came in during the age of web-based apps. To establish their presence, businesses must meet the vital condition of having digital visibility. Basically, a company’s internet presence is an important marketing feature as well as a marketing strategy.

Businesses are working on broadening their commercial horizons rather than simply establishing an online presence. This internet presence allows them to access a wider audience in the worldwide market. Corporations create a website, web platforms, and apps for this purpose.

What Are Trends In Website Project Management?

Since its inception, the internet has undergone several changes. From ’94 to the ’00s, the very first iteration of the internet, called web 1.0, was in use. This generation didn’t have a lot of authors adding content and most websites were created as static pages, even though millions of people used them. Web forms, as well as HTML portals, were employed as the main technology. Then more complex websites utilising PHP and ASP and even Java began to appear, showcasing what was possible for the future.

The new era, called Web 2.0, started with the new millennium in  2000 and ended in 2010. Social media and other related content were the main focus of this era since the total number of content creators surpassed a million. Furthermore, the general users became to rise into the billions. Thanks to the addition of RSS and XML feeds, there was a switch to the technical focus toward Web Applications. During this phase of the internet, sharing content via blogs was also introduced.

Then came the following era, referred to as Web 3.0, which brought even more changes. The notion of embedded dynamic material was developed in this age. The tech also progressed to include the supply of web services. Users began to not just make but also publish material to a significant degree. The concept of proactive user participation grew in popularity. This upped the standard for this era’s user engagement and experience.

The most recent trends have exploded in popularity. Web tech and its use is advancing and expanding at a rapid pace.

What Are Website Technologies?

New technology is being created and launched really fast to meet the demanding needs of the industry. Some of those technologies are providing businesses with additional creative features that will help them stay relevant and competitive, often pushing them to heights they never before could have seen. Most of those web technologies keep evolving at a rapid pace and with increasing frequency.

Because characteristics and designs like those appeal to clients, they help the business grow. Many companies are striving to deliver innovative features utilizing the most up-to-date web technologies in order to place their goods at the forefront. They will be able to capture a greater market share that way. In addition, the internet is widely utilized for application-to-application interaction. Teams create programmatic interfaces that let programs communicate with one another. “Web services” is the name for these types of interactions.

Inside the web paradigms, there are many different types of apps and services available right now. Chatbots and virtual assistants are becoming increasingly common. The Internet of Things (IoT) is changing the paradigms of web networking. Conceptualization and realization methods have evolved. Cloud computing is setting the pace in the industry.

Combined, all of those tools have significantly increased the worth of the industry. Because of the ongoing needs of the industry and the underlying online technology, there are always adjustments. As a result, web development has always been improving. Furthermore, all of these changes place a greater need among web project managers to innovate, so this is where the requirement for agility arose.

Web Projects and Effective Website Project Management Traits

In this day and age, websites are no longer just static web pages. They’ve grown into enormous, complicated projects. Multi-platform apps are one example of such initiatives since they need to operate on a variety of systems such as desktop computers, tablets, and cellphones. Furthermore, the apps link to a number of data sources, collecting pertinent information.

The nature of online apps can be rather diverse. E-commerce sites, business intelligence, scorecards, cloud computing, and data warehousing are a few of these applications.

You must concentrate on numerous project management characteristics to be able to properly manage dynamic, complicated projects. Here are some of the most important aspects you should follow as a guide through managing your website projects.

.

Vast Knowledge Of Methodologies For Website Project Management

The new tech trends are evolving as a result of increased innovation. These developments make online initiatives more difficult. There seem to be a variety of project management approaches to choose from.

Such approaches should be well-understood by project managers since they have to select the most appropriate technique for their projects. They should also tailor it to their own requirements. They could even employ hybrid approaches. Scrum is a widely utilized framework that project managers use to give the greatest value to customers as quickly as possible while still maintaining a rapid delivery time.

Set And Direct Goals For Website Project Management

According to some studies, project risks and eventual failure is caused by a lack of transparency in project goals. The monitor and control process will fail eventually if a project manager doesn’t really identify specific set objectives because they will be unable to assess progress if all they have is ambiguous goals.

This challenge arises with the introduction of agility, as clients may not have their needs upfront or may modify them regularly. This technology can be complicated in certain circumstances. As a consequence of these difficulties, the project is in a state of flux.

Project managers have to deal with these concerns. The goals must be in sync, and there needs to be a need to evaluate and focus on the requirements. You may discuss and give work to a team after you’ve established the requirements correctly.

Recurrent Communication Regarding Website Project Management

Among the most important characteristics of a great project manager is clear communication. Project managers should talk to stakeholders on a regular basis. Another thing to consider is that all project team members may not always be at the same location, as a result, project managers must place a greater emphasis on communication and keeping in touch with everyone.

Stakeholders must be informed about the status of the project, and the team should be updated constantly about the project’s risks and modifications. This is all a very important task that the project manager must get done. Sometimes there are gaps between stakeholders due to poor communication, which can result in the project suffering from delays.

Project managers must first understand the customer’s initial notion before communicating this to the rest of the team. In addition, a project manager will supervise the team members that are tasked with creating the service or product, meaning that the project manager must communicate with everyone consistently and clearly during the project’s lifecycle in aim to discuss the project’s concerns and obstacles.

Team Leadership And Management

The majority of projects are carried out by cross-cultural teams working from different locations, so their ideas and conventions might differ, but they were hired to function as a team. This is why project managers are essential in leading their team through every step of the way.

All project managers should serve as their project team’s main resource. Project managers establish conventions and rules for their teams to follow in order for them to work efficiently. Project managers need to work with their team members to plan out their tasks. After project managers have defined and assigned the tasks, they keep track of every team member’s progress for them.

The functions of a project manager have evolved into that of a leader that is more akin to the position of a facilitator, making them more successful in team cooperation and growth. Project managers should always make sure that everyone in the organization is up to date on what’s going on.

Good Understanding Of Management Software

Project management, just like web project management, necessitates project managers’ familiarity to project management technologies. Website project managers must be well-versed in project management software because these tools and resources will help make the project manager’s job simpler. Having these tools will assist project managers in carrying out project management tasks efficiently.

Project managers have a grand variety of resources and tools that they can use. When it comes to project planning and scheduling, tasks, configuration and risks and issues management, as well as progress reporting, new technologies, and tools may be able to help.

There are several open-source options on the market that appeal to these needs. The tools should be chosen by the project manager depending on the project approach. For Scrum, project managers can utilize software such as Jira and Version One, whereas, for waterfall methodologies, MS Project and Primavera are some good options.

Stay On Top Of New Web Tech

Website project managers should be well-versed in web technology. Although project managers aren’t required to design the application, doing so can assist them to comprehend the project’s entire scope and problems.

Several companies have launched a number of new technologies made just for their products. Some of those suppliers who have a lot of market shares like IBM, DELL, and Oracle, to name a few, have been creating a variety of goods and services that project managers acquire to integrate into their projects.

Expertise In Overall Risk Management

A very crucial component of web project management is risk management. Project managers have always been in charge of risk management in general since they make certain that the projects’ risks are covered as quickly as feasible. Project team members are tasked with identifying the dangers, and they next conduct an analysis and prepare a plan for risk response, followed by the implementation of that same risk response.

The far more serious of these dangers is security. To mitigate risks, you must address particular aspects. A very important aspect of it would be input validation. Identity management and access management are both also high on the priority list. Processes for both application and infrastructure setup must be in place, according to project managers. The application’s performance is also important since the amount of data and traffic will increase with time.

User Engagement

Another vital aspect of web project management is user experience. Project managers must place a strong emphasis on user experience, since it has a direct influence on how people consume the product, thus affecting the business.

Project managers should seek to improve the application’s user engagement and overall experience. They need a great deal of user engagement in order to obtain and integrate user input.

To introduce digital projects, project managers enlist the help of web and graphic creative designers, manage all of the creative team, as well as communicate with the marketing department. The basic purpose of the user experience always focuses on making a website or online application more interactive and enjoyable to use. When you set up a brand new website, even for a company that has been established for years, it will engage its customers and encourage them to buy more items or services.

You must be comfortable with a number of graphics technologies as a user experience project manager. Graphic design applications, databases, and consumer analysis tools are among these technologies since keeping up with the newest software & industry developments is critical.

Leadership And Supervision Skills

Web project management demands strong leadership abilities. In order to be successful, online project managers must possess a number of personality attributes. Mentoring, motivating, negotiating, building a project atmosphere, and persuading are among the most important of these characteristics. Let’s define and go through each of them in more detail.

Mentoring

Project managers who are also serving as leaders get their work cut out for them in regard to mentoring. They recognize the importance of self-motivated and organizing teams. As a result, their primary goal is to create a team in a way that they can self-organize, allowing them to perform while assisting one another and functioning as a group.

Inspiring

Project managers that are successful stay focused on the project’s objectives at all times. They continue to promote this idea inside the team after identifying clear goals and the project’s vision in partnership with stakeholders. They strive to maintain employees engaged since they recognize that this is essential to the successful completion of a project.

Project managers value the contributions of their staff. Furthermore, they inspire them to bring more value both to the company and the current project because they understand the potential of a high-performance, motivated team that can push boundaries and surpasses expectations.

Communication

Project managers are critical in motivating teams and other parties to collaborate effectively. Because these people come from a variety of cultures, perspectives, experiences, and duties, they could have different viewpoints than others. Project managers must collaborate successfully with stakeholders, as well as all of the team members, in order for all parties to reach a consensus.

Creating A Pleasant Project Environment

Project managers recognize the value of a nice environment since it’s the environment and energy that allows the team to function efficiently and effectively. As a result, they foster an atmosphere in which team members may openly speak with one another. They must also promote an atmosphere of mutual trust, integrity, and respect, so that the team feels energized and empowered. Following that, the team assumes control. As a consequence, the job is completed quickly.

Influencing

Project managers pay attention to what’s going on around them. Whenever they need to make any choices, they endeavor to grasp the team’s opinion and perspective. Project managers also put a strong emphasis on improving project team cooperation. They also want to engage and manage all partners in addition to this teamwork. PMs are the most important individual who must have a favorable influence on the group because they have to influence their judgments at various phases while remaining supportive and encouraging the team.

Organizational Change

Website tech, just like business needs and trends, continue to evolve throughout time. Companies are always undergoing transformation. They devise tactics in an attempt to implement the transformation into action. Portfolios, initiatives, and projects are used to execute these improvements.

Change management is another crucial part of web project management. Web PMs are essential in putting these ideas into action. This transformation is about introducing organizational change rather than project change mgmt. Project managers must guarantee that business users begin to employ the new tech in their daily operations, and they must do it in a variety of ways. They can concentrate on providing coaching and mentoring to such individuals. These users might become brand advocates for initiatives if they are engaged earlier. This requires a great amount of work, particularly when the gap in change is large.

Start Your Web Project Management Career

If you intend to work as a web project manager, your very first step should be to get a Project Management Professional certification, because that is the highest level of project management certification available and it will boost your likelihood of landing a fantastic job. If you want to be able to sign up for the Project Management Professional exam, you first need to join a PMP training course and complete thirty-five hours of PMP study. - Matthew

Excellent test prep for the exam, though some more practice tests on agile would be beneficial

It is often hard to figure out what the right answer was on a quiz or practice exam. Frequently, the correct answer is buried in a lot of text about what options are wrong.

- James

The content was spot on and I am much more confident in understanding the processes and how everything works together now. (The) course is great; however, the customer service team is Exceptional! Very responsive and thorough, and at all times; and when I had some technical difficulties (or questions) they stuck with me through resolution. Highly recommended program and company.

The Course documents should remain open for longer than 6 months, given that PMI gives you 365 days to prepare for exam. Also, the option to extend visibility for the course documents, costs almost a 5th of the course, but opens up the docs for just 30 more days. Propose to extend this to 90 days at the very least.

- Vasily

I'm very satisfied with the Brain Sensei PMP Exam Preparation Course. All 8 Modules are very well structured and detailed. I believe that practice exams included in the course helped me a lot with the preparation for my PMP Exam. I appreciate Brain Sensei for their amazing course and for the awesome service. They responded to all my requests immediately. Thanks. Highly recommended.

- Helen Borimsky

The format of the prep-course is great overall and a great alternative to reading the PMBOK. Barring a few minor glitches here and there, the flow of information ensures that concepts are well understood not only from the point of examination but to the point of application in day to day professional activities. Explanations provided in the answers of prep exams (apart from the 1st one) are also a key to understanding the thought process to be applied. With the focus being on Agile approaches from 2021, the information in the course seemed adequate to cover the concepts. All the Best to all aspirants.

Your course, quizzes at the end of most modules and practice exams truly challenged me. I definitely derived the value and knowledge I was looking for in preparation for taking the PMP Certification Test. In particular, I appreciated the explanations that popped-up in the tests after an answer was submitted - very educational and helpful to my learning/understanding the material and concepts better. Some areas that could be improved (and some of this is nit-picking) include: * Some of the grammar and overall sentence structures, particularly in the latest set of practice exams, needs to be cleaned-up. Some were missing 'of', 'for, or had an extra 'an' in the narrative - got confusing at times. * In the practice exams, I'd like to see shorter sentences rather than the flurry of 'and' and 'or' conjunctions that made reading the sentences go on forever (had to read them multiple times to truly understand their meaning). That said, I enjoyed the overall online course taking experience and thank you for accommodating my requested time extensions. Best regards, Scott Conn

- Scott Conn

Liked it. Need access for longer though.

- Jerome

---

What I like best about Brain Sensei is the interactive nature of the course. I think this material would be numbing if delivered as simple lectures with slides. This method is an improvement on that. On the other hand, an in-person course, while more expensive, would likely be even more useful if you have the funds and the time. I haven't taken the PMP exam yet, so I can't comment on how useful the practice tests are.

- James

---

Great

- Yennyfer

---

The Brain Sensei PMP program is a wonderful program that condenses the PMBOK into digestible and retainable bites leveraging the power of story telling. If you're looking for a program that will get you your credit hours but also help establish a foundation of PMI knowledge this is the program for you!

- Kenny Dalen

- Lee

Truly the best course in town if you wish to pass the PMP exam on the first try. I love the idea of playing the role of the samurai and practice your project management skill in her shoes. And not to forget, the generous amount of practice exam gave me just the right dose of confidence before taking the real one. Highly recommended

- Minh Vo

---

The course was great, though I found a lot of parts hard to comprehend. I feel a lot more prepared and better skilled to manage projects in my career. Thanks, Brain Sensei.

- Jill Finkelstein

The BrainSensei PMP preparation course provided me with all the material required to be ready for the exam. It is well structured, explains the concepts clearly, and most importantly, provides ample training questions through the four mock exams and assessment questions at the end of each module. I passed the exam with Above Target in all sections on the first attempt.

- Gael Riethmuller

---

Overall I really liked this learning course. It was very helpful and allowed me to be well prepared for the exam. The 2nd and 3rd practice exam are great to give you real example questions and help prepare you for what to expect. BrainSensei's customer service was the best. I had to delay taking my test due to COVID and they extended my membership for free. They went above and beyond my expectation which was great. Only changes I would recommend is to add 1 or 2 more practice exams like the 2nd and 3rd exam and get rid of the agile practice exam. This is not a real focus of the test and therefore is not really applicable in my opinion.

- Ronnie

---

BrainSensei developed a great learning method to prepare for the PMP certification exam. Their customer service is always very professional, fast, spot on and dedicated to your success. I recommend them.

- G. Buchs

---

I've sent several emails to BrainSensei (one of them not so nice, but the rest were okay) and the team has always been so polite in answering the questions. I'm a very straight-forward person and don't like the PMI-ism type questions because they seem like 'gotchas' or traps, and this is not how I manage my team. I took the Master of Project course (which was garbage) then failed the PMP exam. Throughout the PMP exam I felt so out of touch. Even with the first practice exam on BrainSensei I felt out of place, but I am not getting the hang of things. I hope to pass the exam on the second attempt! The brain sensei experience has been *miles* ahead of the Master of Project garbage. Brain Sensei should be proud of both their product and of their team! I love getting replies to my concerns so quickly. Nice work :) !!!

- Tracy

Need improvement in presenting more relevant real exam type questions. The practice exams are too simple and easy and do not prepare you for the real exam. Otherwise, good concept presenting material

- Amir

The prep materials provided plenty of content which prepared me well for the PMP exam. The questions were packed with information.

Teaches the PMP in a solid manner, some things you need to know as a potential consumer: -The Samurai backstory is extremely short, and didn’t really assist me with recall in any in-depth way. It only gave broad brush-strokes as to what each phase entailed. -MOST of what was on the test was covered in the lessons, however if I had zero real prior PM knowledge prior to the test, I would have failed. -The first practice test forces you, as the student to actually read into the PMBOK, which was a benefit in the long run as it assisted me with quickly referencing what I needed to find. -The course will likely cover wave tops and subjects, forcing me to self-study for a week before my test... not a bad deal all things considered. -Brain Sensei’s course has incorporated Agile into one of their practice tests, and this test IS mandatory. This may seem strange, and I didn’t get a satisfactory reason why I needed to take a purely Agile test when I only wanted to take the PMP, for anyone else in this scenario, this is the reason: In June, PMI is revamping the PMP test to include Agile as a significant portion of the PMP. Brain Sensei is just ahead of the curve trying to get students prepared... fret not. Their customer service is extremely responsive and does take care of their members. My program had a couple bugs, and the customer service fixed my problems within 24 hours. All in all... it was absolutely worth the money for me.

- Kevin

---

I am very impressed with this learning system. The content is laid out in a way that will make any learner understand all the process groups and ITTOs in order to understand Project management and be equipped to excel in the test. The learning system is engaging and fun at the same time. It's very different than other learning material which is composed mostly of videos. Some improvements are needed, but in my opinion Brain Sensei is great value for money

At first, I was attracted to Brain Sensei training for their original learning program using a Samurai's story. And indeed it made the whole learning experience funnier - so easier. I felt like the Samurai. Then, I was amazed by The Brain Sensei Team's reactivity and help when I reached out through contact@brainsensei.com Their support was constantly reliable and efficient. I appreciated their professionalism and didn't feel on my own. At last, the course and the practice exams proved to be efficient since I passed the PMP exam - with 'Above Targe't in all Domains. So thank you so much Brain Sensei Team !! Charlene

SO far I am thoroughly enjoying the Brain Sensei PMP prep course. I have taken a Project management class as a part of my degree which I recently completed and project management has always interested me. I find the course to be educational and easy to follow. I am grateful that this course has been designed in such a way that is simple to understand all of the complexities in project management and that allows me to study at my own pace.

This review is based on completing all course work through module 102. The story and interactive nature of the course are helpful for learning and relating the material. It would be nice to have the page numbers to the PMBOK guide where references are made to it. Other information that will be helpful, are the explanations to the practice questions at the end of each module. These are provided only after immediately answering the questions. Having these available in the score summary from the 'history' tab will be helpful to refresh why the answer is correct and other options are not.

Overall I would rate this course an 8/10. I liked how there were exams towards the end of every module and I felt that it was very useful having it laid out in different scenarios. I rate it only an 8/10 as I had some glitch/software issues and lost my progress resulting in me having to re-do modules/exams multiple times. All in all, that was maybe useful in the end as it was a way for me study or 're-learn' the course material. Thank you!

A smart approach to present the information which makes it fun and engaging while at the same time preparing for the PMP exam. Brain Sensei differentiates itself from other PMP exam preps in that it delivers the knowledge through the use of storytelling technique. I recommend this course because it will help you pass your PMP exam on the first try.

Excellent course for preparing for the PMP exam in a fun and engaging way! The practice questions resemble the actual questions on the exam making it a completely worthwhile experience.

I passed the PMP exam after taking Brain Sensei's Online PMP Certification Exam Prep. The practice exam questions were so similar to the questions that appeared on the exam. On exam day, when I sat down to take the test and started running through the questions I felt so relieved! The practice exams are also timed so you get more comfortable with the exam experience and feel better prepared when you sit down to take the test. The other differentiator was the video content throughout the modules. The concepts are taught through a story of a young samurai defending her kingdom. This will probably be the only PMP prep course where you can learn all the knowledge areas and feudal Japan at the same time. I'd recommend this course not just because of the videos but because it helped me pass my exam on the first try.

Loved the unique approach and it still had all the info I'd expect from a full PMP exam prep course. Very responsive on questions too.
