Our mission is to provide simple and innovative courses to help people achieve their learning goals anytime anywhere.
The founders of Brain Sensei are certified project managers, but we’re not 100 years old.
When we went for our certification, we noticed that all of the online PMP® certification courses or PMP exam prep courses were targeted to the “Serious Corporate Professional”. The kind of professional who has many leather bound books and whose apartment smells like rich mahogany.
That simply wasn’t us.
Even worse was that, without exception, the material was presented in streaming video that looked like a PowerPoint deck with an audio track of the instructor explaining things (we pictured him sitting at a large mahogany desk.)
Who made it a rule that online learning should be boring? Getting your online certification shouldn’t be painful, so we set out to create an online learning system that not only works, but makes learning interesting.
We love being project managers. We get to work on cool, engaging projects and the skills we’ve learned have helped us to excel in many other businesses.
We believe that every professional should have the same opportunities, and we want to make it as fun and easy as possible for you to achieve everything you want from your career.
Getting the right certification is the first step.
Dr. John A. Estrella, CMC, PMP, is a co-founder of Brain Sensei.
A successful entrepreneur, John has worked with some of the world’s most respected organizations in Asia, North America and Europe.
John rarely sits still. In addition to his project management career, he authored six books and several courses for audiences in Canada, U.S., U.K., France, Sweden, Japan, India and other countries.
John founded Agilitek Corporation and was awarded a scholarship by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Educational Foundation for his doctoral studies. He is a member of PMI and CMC-Canada.
We weren’t sure if John was a big deal, but in 2012 he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, so that kind of proved it.
To find out more about John, check out his video 5 Tips For Managing Projects, produced for The Chang School of Continuing Eduction at Ryerson University.
Chris Stafford, PMP, MBA, is a co-founder of Brain Sensei.
With over 14 years of project management experience, Chris has worked with Canada’s most profitable companies and regularly manages projects worth over $5M.
He successfully combines solid project management know-how with a sense of entrepreneurial adventure that his clients appreciate.
If you ask Chris why it’s great to be a project manager, he’ll tell you it’s the lifestyle. When Chris isn’t busy managing million dollar projects, you’ll find him in the dojo. He owns and operates Toronto Goju Ryu Karate and practices traditional martial arts and Kobudo. Watch this video to see how Chris deals with our PMP competitors!
But before you start thinking that Chis is someone you’d want to avoid in a dark alley, think again. A teacher in every way, he leads teams of up to 100 employees at work, is a PMI mentor, and loves teaching his kids about the outdoors.
Factor in his MBA from Michael G. DeGroote School of Business (McMaster University) and it’s clear that Chris is the kind of guy who makes things happen in both the dojo and the boardroom.
